It’s National Park Week, a time to celebrate “America’s Best Idea” by getting out and exploring some of our nation’s most beautiful locations. Lake Powell, located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, is one of the parks that will benefit from waived entry fees during this time. Located on the Arizona/Utah border, Lake Powell offers a wide array of activities for people looking to take advantage of National Park week.

In celebration of National Park Week, Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas is offering 20% off of Rainbow Bridge tours from April 22-26. The day-long tour takes guests to Rainbow Bridge National Monument, the largest known natural stone bridge in the world. The tour is also a great way to see Lake Powell for those staying on the shore.

Lake Powell is a boaters’ paradise with more shoreline than the western United States and more than 90 major canyons. Its wide, open water is perfect for watersports like wakeboarding and water skiing, and its canyons are great for exploration on personal water craft or kayak. The shore of Lake Powell is best explored by foot. Many trails are accessible by PWCs or kayak, leading to slot canyons or waterfalls few visitors ever see.

The expanse of Lake Powell lends it to being a favorite houseboating destination as well. Houseboats range in size from RV-style 42’ boats to luxury 75’ watercraft complete with fireplaces, hot tubs and residential-style kitchens. Houseboats can be rented out of Wahweap and Bullfrog marinas from three-fourteen days. For those looking to learn more about Houseboating before embarking on a vacation, three Introduction to Houseboating weekends are available this spring out of Wahweap Marina near Page, Arizona.

Spring is a beautiful time to visit Lake Powell. The mild weather make for enjoyable hiking while lower water levels provide excellent fishing and canyon exploring. Learn about all the activities available at Lake Powell during National Park week and beyond by visiting our Play page.

Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas operates Lake Powell Resort, dining, boat tours to locations like Rainbow Bridge and Antelope Canyon and boat rentals out of Wahweap Marina. At Bullfrog Utah, Defiance House Lodge, Anasazi restaurant and boat rentals are also available. These two locations are excellent starting points for any Lake Powell vacation.
