Wahweap Bay

Stay close to the marina and enjoy some of the most convenient—and scenic—spots on the lake.

• Local Coves: Save on fuel by choosing a nearby cove or meeting friends at Lone Rock Beach.
• Ice Cream Canyon: A popular cove with wide sandy beaches and distant rock formations that look like scoops of ice cream.
• Lone Rock Beach: Perfect for meeting friends with 4x4 vehicles or campers. This Utah State Park beach allows day and overnight camping right on the shoreline and attracts visitors from around the world.

As you head uplake, consider exploring Navajo Canyon—one of the most peaceful, unplugged areas on South Lake Powell.

• This canyon extends deep into Arizona and typically has no cell service, making it ideal for disconnecting.
• A sandy beach near the back of the canyon often hosts a handful of houseboats.
• Travel time: approximately 1 hour to the canyon mouth and up to 2 hours to reach the beach.
