Lake Powell starts in northern Arizona and extends into southern
Utah. It's part of the Colorado River in Glen Canyon National
Recreation Area. In terms of mileage, Bullfrog Marina in Utah is
298 miles from Salt Lake City and 480 miles from Denver, Colorado.
Wahweap Marina in Arizona is 267 miles from Las Vegas, 280 miles
from Phoenix, 388 from Albuquerque, and 540 from Los Angeles - and
an easy 2-hour drive from the Grand Canyon. For more

Because Lake Powell spans two states - Arizona and Utah - there
are two online sites we recommend you visit for this information:

How big is the
lake?
Lake Powell is 186 miles long and has almost 2,000 miles of
shoreline - longer than the entire west coast of the U.S.A.! There
are 96 major canyons, some of which are 15 to 20 miles in
length.
Can I fly to Lake
Powell?
Scheduled service to Page, AZ and Wahweap Marina is available
from Phoenix and Denver via Great Lakes
Airlines. There are private landing strips at Page,AZ,
Bullfrog, UT, and Halls Crossing, UT.
Once we're at Lake
Powell, what is there to do?
Lots! At Lake Powell, there's an incredibly diverse range of
activities, ranging from the most supremely relaxing to the
outrageously thrilling. There's houseboating, boat tours, fabulous
meals, wakeboarding, waterskiing, dinner cruises, hiking, fishing
and lounging by the pool. No one should miss Rainbow Bridge
National Monument - the largest natural stone bridge in the world.
There are Jeep and Hummer tours of Antelope and Secret Canyons,
horseback riding and scenic tours. Only at Lake Powell will you
find hundreds of secluded beaches that become your own private
escape.
What are some of the
rules at Lake Powell?
If you take normal precautions and reasonable care, you'll have
a safe and memorable vacation. Remember, you're on the water so
life jackets are important, especially for little ones (children
under 12 must wear their life jackets at all times if on a boat or
the exterior of a houseboat). Cliff jumping and cliff diving is
prohibited within the boundaries of Glen Canyon National Recreation
Area, including Lake Powell and its tributaries. Remember, you are
in a national park area, protect and preserve this place for future
generations to enjoy!

The funds collected from entrance fees stay within the park and are
used to enhance the experience of visiting the lake.
